The HUB boasts a brand new (laid in 2012) cricket table with 5 pitches. The pitches are used extensively by our own Continental Star cricket club. The HUB also is the home venue for Birmingham South and City College, and Birmingham City University who play mid week. On Sundays the venue plays host to the Birmingham Parks Cricket League. This extensive use means external hirings will be limited but with a brand new synthetic wicket (laid in 2014) the facility can be hired.
The synthetic wicket is also used for “last man stands matches” on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Last Man Stands is the widest reaching amateur cricket league in the world, bringing together like minded individuals from all walks of life, countries, religions, sex, and races, to enjoy this wonderful format of cricket. Last Man Stands is very easy to join.
This great social outdoor 8-a-side T20 cricket game lasts +/- 2 hours. All 8 wickets are needed to bowl a cricket team out. When the seventh wicket falls, the Last Man Stands on his own!
