Volunteers – the backbone of British sport

Volunteers arent paid becuase they are worthless, but because they are priceless!!!    The HUB and its clubs are managed and run by a number of committed volunteers and helpers without whom the HUB could not offer activities that are accessible and affordable to the local community. From cutting grass to taking bookings, from cleaning to marketing, and from coaching to accounting volunteers make thier mark. Top international test cricketer visits the HUB

Top test player Saqulain Mushtaq who played 49 test matches and 169 one day internationals for Pakistan taking 496 wickets visited the HUB on 7th December 2013. At an open question time he talked about his cricketing exploits, answered questions, and gave advice to young cricketers. He explained how his famous delivery called the “Doosra” came about, A doosra is a particular type of delivery by an off-spin bowler  where the ball spins in the opposite direction to an off-break (the off-spinner’s default delivery), and aims to confuse the batsman into playing a poor shot.
